Legal & General Company is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Corporate Attorney to join our dynamic legal team. As a Corporate Attorney, you will play a crucial role in providing legal counsel and support to our organization. You will work closely with various departments and leadership to ensure compliance with laws and regulations, mitigate legal risks, and contribute to the achievement of our business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice and counsel on a wide range of corporate and commercial matters, including mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, contracts, and regulatory compliance.
- Draft, review, and negotiate various legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and transactional documents.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to assess and manage legal risks associated with business operations and initiatives.
- Conduct legal research and analysis to stay current on relevant laws and regulations affecting the company.
- Represent the company in legal proceedings, as necessary.
- Assist in the development and implementation of corporate policies and procedures.
- Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in corporate law.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active membership in the state bar and in good standing.
- 5+ years of experience as a corporate attorney, preferably in a corporate legal department or law firm.
- Strong knowledge of corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, contracts, and corporate governance.
- Excellent analytical, research, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Experience
- 5+ years of experience as a corporate attorney.
- Experience in mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, and contract law.
- Previous experience working in a corporate legal department or law firm.
Skills
- Strong legal research and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research databases.
- Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
